Silent Inflammation & Longevity

What is inflammation? The two main sources of inflammation are infection and immune activation that results in immune sensitivities, allergies or autoimmune conditions.

Silent inflammation sources are located principally in the gums and your colon. A host of bacteria can be found living there that include lyme pathogens such as Bartonella, Babesia, and childhood infectious agents such as streptococcus, the bacteria that causes “strep throat”. Other bacteria are

  • Clostridium
  • E. coli
  • Staphylococcus
  • Cryptococcus
  • Klebsiella
  • Enterococcus
  • Pseudomonas
  • Bacteroides

These bacteria can inflame the gums and live in the wisdom “pockets”, the area of the tissue left after the wisdom tooth is extracted. Lyme pathogens are especially fond of these wisdom pockets. These pathogens proceed to “seed” the body through lymphatic drainage via tonsils, adenoids, and head and neck lymphatics draining downward eventually infecting the colon. Sometimes along the way, heart valves and the pericardium (area around the heart) can also be affected as well as the lining of veins and arteries resulting in accelerated arteriosclerosis. Long-term gum inflammation can also result in dental cavitations, infection that enters the bones of the jaw and can even cross into the sinuses and brain. Common areas of the brain affected are the temporal lobes from chronic ear and throat infections. The inflammation can be low grade, silent from obvious symptoms and chronic. It can affect auditory and verbal processing skills in children as well as adults and lead to chronic recurrent headache and migraine, and even seizure disorders.

Immune Matrix uses a state of the art computerized testing modality to test for hidden infection in the gums and wisdom pockets. Patients are then referred out to a biological dentist for ozone injections at the sites of infection. Immune Matrix has found that one to two ozone injection sessions will completely eradicate the sites of gum infection, far outperforming repeated ineffective rounds of antibiotics.

The mechanisms of immune activation are not well recognized in Western medicine unless they fall directly into a disease category such as a food allergy or a designated autoimmune condition such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. However, immune activation that leads to inflammatory conditions plays a direct part in the development of:

  • food sensitivities
  • chronic infections
  • allergies
  • autoimmune disorders

and metabolic immune inhibition of metabolism of such necessary metabolites such as

  • sulfur
  • B vitamins
  • folate
  • hormones and neurotransmitters, as well as methylation, sugar, and fat metabolism.

Think of the immune system operating on an alert system akin to a country’s national security system with different degrees of alert. Code red would be the highest alert. In the case of the immune system on high alert, it is easily trigger to react on a hair trigger to the slightest target resulting in the most extreme degree of inflammation. Chronic immune activation is adaptive however and results in symptoms that are vague or livable or tolerable though bothersome or even not obviously noticeable. For some reason you are not able to “tolerate” much red wine (a sulfur metabolism issue that be entirely aggravated by immune activation), or you cannot manage to eat much in the way of garlic, onions or other high sulfur foods for the same reason.

Immune Matrix tests its patients with a computerized technology that will identify sources of immune “activation”. This will enable you to identify all the sources of inflammation your body is dealing with. By identifying your specific immune triggers you can reduce your overall level of inflammation and allow the body to begin to heal tissues and restore metabolic balance. The computerized technology allows patients to identify triggers that standardized blood testing (done only for food allergies) will not find. For example, you may know you are reactive to dishes with tomatoes and orange juice, but your blood test reveals no such food allergy! You could be reacting to the citric acid present in both these foods. Therefore, a metabolic component like citric acid, vitamin, even a mineral such as sulfur and magnesium or calcium can cause immune activation that would never be found in blood or skin tests for food allergies.

Fortunately, metabolic immune activation is reversible and can be bypassed even with genetic defects in certain metabolic pathways. Immune Matrix has a proprietary protocol called the Immune Reset Protocol that helps to reprogram the immune system to improve metabolism and reduce inflammation triggers. The research conducted by Immune Matrix has been ongoing for the last ten years and promises significant hope for those who have been left to dance around their metabolic issues and become sicker and sicker over time, unable to take supplements or medications without adverse reactions.

Patients with

  • autism
  • multiple chemical sensitivities
  • Lyme disease
  • chronic fatigue
  • fibromyalgia
  • migraine
  • headaches
  • PMS
  • endometriosis
  • irritable bowel
  • acid reflux
  • eczema
  • candida
  • chronic sinus infections
  • recurrent ear infections
  • Chron’s disease

all have this type of immune activation aggravating their condition. In a majority of instances, reversing the immune activation has been the key factor to resolving and reversing the downward spiral these conditions entail.
